What Shots does well
Shots (shots.so) makes good-looking screenshot images quickly: a device frame or a plain card, a nice background, shadows, and you're done. It also has animated mockups and zoom effects, layout presets and export sizes for social media. It's a favourite for posts on X and LinkedIn.
Where Mockup Center is different
Shots works mostly in 2D: a flat device or a card on a styled background. Mockup Center is built on real 3D devices. You can turn a phone to any angle, move the light and watch the shadow follow, open a MacBook's lid, fold a foldable.
Animation is deeper as well. Mockup Center has 57 animations that line up on a timeline, your own keyframes when you need them, and video exports up to 8K, including transparent ProRes 4444 for editors.
Mockup Center also includes more than 250 photo mockups, real photographs with the screen mapped, which Shots doesn't focus on.
Which one should you pick?
For a quick, tidy screenshot post, Shots is fast and pleasant. For 3D scenes, launch videos, App Store previews and photo mockups, pick Mockup Center. Many people use a tool like Shots for everyday posts and a 3D app for launches.
